Cape Foxes are found in the drier regions of Botswana - Central Kalahari Game Reserve, Nxai Pan National Park and Makgadikgadi Pans.
The Cape Fox is the only true fox occurring in southern Africa. They feed on a wide range of food from rodents to birds, insects and even at times fruit. The breeding of the Cape Fox is non-seasonal and young are born after a 2 month gestation period.
The Cape Fox is common on farmlands where it is known to kill young lambs and goats resulting in its persecution by farmers. They are also preyed on by predators such as cheetah and leopard.
