Day 1: Johannesburg – Maun – Savuti
After arriving in Maun from Johannesburg you will be transferred by light aircraft to your private bush camp situated on the Savute Channel in the Linyanti private concession. You will arrive in time for lunch and then you can relax and watch wildlife come down to drink in front of your room.
Later, set off on the late afternoon activity to seek out the wildlife that has made this area so famous. Dinner is served under the stars after which you will sit around the campfire listening to stories.
Day 2: Savuti
An early wake-up call this morning will allow you to be out before sunrise in the hope of watching predators on the prowl. The early mornings are the best time for game drives as the nocturnal creatures are slowly replaced on the African tableau by the animals of the day. After a dramatic drive you will return to the safari lodge for brunch and a siesta.
The afternoon game drive stretches into the evening and as day turns to night, the African wilderness transforms and you will be there to experience it all. Returning to the safari lodge after dark is something primeval, releasing our ancient fears before we settle into the comfort of our surroundings.
Day 3: Savuti – Okavango
Today you will fly over the Okavango Delta on your way to what is considered to be the most romantic bush camp in Botswana. Lying in the heart of the Delta on a private island the camp is an idyllic destination for honeymooners and those celebrating a special occasion with their loved ones. The staff will make sure that you take home memories to cherish forever.
Day 4: Okavango
The day starts with a light breakfast before heading out on your morning activity, which is selected according to the time of the year and the level of the water. During the peak season the activities will be boat cruises or canoe rides with nature walks on the islands. The guides will explain the intricacies of the Delta, sharing their knowledge and passion of the area.
After returning to your bush lodge you will have a brunch before relaxing in the heat of the day. The safari lodge is set amongst beautiful trees for a peaceful interlude prior to the afternoon activity out in the Delta. Dinner under the stars is followed by story time around the campfire before you head off to bed, lulled to sleep by the lush night sounds of the Okavango Delta.
Day 5: Okavango – Maun – Johannesburg
Today you may want to sleep in, or you can get in one more activity before catching a flight to Maun and your onward connection to Johannesburg.
