This Ultimate Wetlands Safari package portrays the Okavango Delta and the relatively unknown Kwando / Selinda ecosystem, part of the Linyanti, to provide a combination of 2 very different waterways for you to explore.

It is fascinating to experience the difference in habits of the animals of the 2 regions. Both areas are renowned for the scenic beauty with the Selinda area coming into its own as a wildlife safari destination.

This combination also provides the opportunity to do water-based activities and land-based activities giving you the ultimate African safari experience. These areas are unique and the guides exceptional and they share a vast store of knowledge with you.

Day 1: Johannesburg – Maun – Okavango

You will arrive in Maun from Johannesburg and board a light aircraft into the Okavango where you will spend the next 2 nights. The bush camp is situated in the area of deepwater channels and wide floodplains from where you can experience the best of the Okavango Delta. You will be in time for lunch after which you can settle in before the afternoon activity. You may choose to do a boat cruise or a makoro ride through the channels and waterways and stop on an island for sundowners before returning to the bush camp for dinner.

Day 2: Okavango

The activities during your stay in the Delta will depend on the water levels but the majority will be water-based and you can decide to do a boat cruise, a nature walk or a makoro ride. During times of low water, game drives will also be available. Your safari guide will explain the intricacies of the Okavango to you and share some of the stories of his childhood. You will gain a fascinating insight into one of Earth's most pristine wilderness areas.

You will enjoy brunch at the bush camp after the morning activity and then you can relax with a spa treatment before the afternoon activity where you will experience more of the natural treasures of the Okavango. Night time in the Delta is full of sounds and scents of the nocturnal creatures and you can lie in bed listening to the dramas taking place.

Day 3: Okavango – Selinda

Today you will fly over the Delta to the northern reaches of Botswana where you will spend the next 2 nights in the Selinda region, one of Africa's most underrated wilderness areas. The area is on the Zibilianje lagoon, part of the Linyanti system, and is a haven for wildlife during the dry season when the water in the interior dries up. The area is famous for its predators and in particular a strong population of African Wild Dog. You will explore the area on game drives and night drives.

Day 4: Selinda

Your day will start early and you will be waking to the sounds of the wilderness coming alive before heading out to explore more of this fascinating region. Getting an early start will ensure the best chance to see predators moving about. As the day warms up you will notice more and more animals heading to the water to drink. Returning to the bush camp you will have brunch and then some time to relax and reflect on your experience.

You may also decide to have a wellness spa treatment during your down time. The afternoon activity follows tea and coffee, and will stretch into the evening where you will have the opportunity to view some of the rarely seen nocturnal creatures. Sunset is a special time and you can savour the moment with a cocktail on the banks of the river before returning to the bush camp for dinner.

Day 5: Selinda – Maun – Johannesburg

There will be time for a short game drive before flying back to Maun to catch a flight to Johannesburg after a truly memorable safari experience.

Okavango & Linyanti Fly-in Safari Package

This safari holiday package is based on a 5 day fly-in safari for 2 guests sharing en-suite accommodation, all inclusive with schedule flights ex/to Johannesburg O.R. Tambo Airport.
