Dedicated staff will ensure a high level of comfort on this Ancient Wilderness Safari Package, enabling you to feel the dust in your soul without the discomfort. Meals cooked under the stars on an open fire taste extra special when eaten around the burning logs.

Game drives and boat cruises offer the best opportunities for you to discover the diverse landscapes and see wildlife. These activities ensure you experience the many highlights of this adventure. Your guides are all from Botswana, adding to the authenticity of this Botswana safari holiday.

Day 1: Johannesburg – Maun – Moremi Game Reserve

Guests taking photos on first game drive.Upon arrival in Maun from Johannesburg you will be transferred by light aircraft to a pre-erected camp in the Xakanaxa area. Here you meet the staff who will be with you throughout your Botswana trip. There will be time for an afternoon drive to acclimatise yourself to your safari and to this spectacular area. You will return to the bush camp and relax while dinner is cooked on the fire.

Day 2: Moremi Game Reserve

Makoro going through the river.Today is spent on a boat exploring the channels, lagoons and waterways of the Okavango Delta, spending time learning about the habits of the animals seen en-route. The area is rich in bird and plant life and your guide takes great pleasure in explaining all this to you.

There is a stop on an island for a picnic lunch, so you can relish this pristine wilderness, before continued exploration on the way back to camp. There will be time for an afternoon game drive looking for wildlife and predators that make this area so special.

Day 3: Moremi – Khwai North Gate

A majestic view of dawn. This morning you head east along the Khwai River. Enjoy one of the most scenic routes in Africa on a road that takes you through floodplains, past lagoons and under the canopy of riverine woodland to your next camp set up in the Khwai area.

The afternoon game drive allows you to see the beauty of the northernmost overflow of the Okavango, a place that is a lifeline for wildlife in the dry season. Dinner will again be enjoyed under the stars.

Day 4: Khwai North Gate

A view of lions and elephant at the waterhole.Today you head out early on a game drive to enjoy the wonders of this area, where wildlife is plentiful and predators abound. During the dry season this area is a haven for wildlife attracted to the life-giving waters of this spill-over of the Okavango. Forests and floodplains provide the ideal habitat for a great variety of species. You return to camp for brunch before time to relax in the heat of the day. The afternoon game drive will allow more time to explore the area before dinner.

Day 5: Khwai – Savuti

A close up of a lion. This morning you head north across the Mababe Depression before reaching the Savute area. As none of the wildlife parks in Botswana are fenced game moves around freely and there is the opportunity of game sightings all along the route. Your bush camp for the next 2 nights is set up in the Savute area which is renowned for its predators. The Savute channel has an interesting history and today wildlife gathers on the life-giving waters of what is often a dry sandy river.

Day 6: Savuti

A view of zebra's grazing.Today you spend exploring the Savute area along the banks of the channel and on the fringes of the Marsh where wildlife moves in to drink and to graze on the green grass. This area has undergone tremendous changes in the past 2 years with the channel beginning to flow and flooding the once dry Marsh. It is a time of interesting behaviour as animals adapt to this new situation. Morning and afternoon game drives will ensure the area comes alive for you. Dinner again is cooked on an open fire and served under the stars.

Day 7: Savuti - Chobe River

A scenic view of the water surrounds. After breakfast you head further north to the banks of the legendary Chobe River where Africa's greatest Elephant herds can be found during the dry season. Your private bush camp site is set up in selected areas to enhance the experience. The afternoon game drive along the floodplains of the Chobe River will awe you with the great numbers of game that concentrate along the water's edge.

Day 8: Chobe River

Vehicle preparing for game drives. After an early morning wake- up call you head out on a game drive in search of the wildlife that makes this area famous. The morning is also a good time to view predators going about their business. Although the Chobe is known as a high density tourist area your guide will ensure that you stay as much as possible off the beaten path.

After the morning game drive you will have brunch at camp before relaxing in the heat of the day. You may choose an optional boat cruise on the river for your afternoon activity. This will allow you to get a unique perspective of the wildlife which come down to drink at the river.

Day 9: Victoria Falls, Livingstone

A magnificent view of Victoria Falls. After a leisurely morning you say your goodbyes to the camp staff and cross the border into Zambia for your stay at Victoria Falls. Victoria Falls is known as the adventure capital of Africa and there are a number of activities to choose from, but for those less adventurous a tour of this magnificent waterfall is a highlight.

Day 10: Livingstone – Johannesburg

A view of the last sunset before departure.Today you may have time for a last activity before you transfer to the airport for your flight to Johannesburg.
