Day 1: Johannesburg – Maun – Savute

Today you will arrive in Maun from Johannesburg where you will be met and transferred to your light aircraft for your flight into the Savute area where you will be spending the next 2 nights. You will arrive in time for lunch before settling in to your room. There will be time for an afternoon game drive to experience this legendary area with sundowners in the bush before returning to the game camp for dinner.

Day 2: Savute

The activities in the Savute revolve around game drives where the professional guides will search for the wildlife that has made Savute part of legend. Discover why many documentaries have been filmed in the area. In recent years the Savute has undergone a major transformation from a very dry area to a wetland. The Savute Channel now flows along its whole length, attracting vast numbers of game to the life-giving waters.

Morning activities begin with an early wake-up call followed by tea and coffee. After a fascinating game drive, brunch will be enjoyed at the bush camp before a siesta. Afternoon tea is served before the evening game drive.

Day 3: Savute – Khwai

There will be time for a morning activity before a short flight to the Khwai area. The Khwai River is the northernmost overflow of the Okavango Delta and great numbers of game are attracted to the water. Your safari lodge for the next 2 nights is situated on the banks of the river allowing for game viewing from your room.

Day 4: Khwai

Early mornings and languid evenings are part of this exquisite Botswana holiday and the Khwai area epitomises the African day and the seasons which can be determined in the sky. Game drives in Moremi provide some of the best game viewing in Botswana, with huge numbers congregating along the waters of the Khwai channel.

Wildlife activities at Khwai include game drives and night drives in the Moremi Game Reserve and the private concession. Strategically placed game hides allow you to spend time watching animal behaviour during the midday hours.

Day 5: Khwai – Okavango Delta

There is the opportunity for an early morning activity before the trip to the airstrip for the short flight into the Okavango Delta where you will be spending the next 2 nights of your African Safari. The Okavango is certainly one of the most pristine wilderness areas in Africa and the lodge is situated on the edge of the Delta.

Day 6: Okavango Delta

Activities over the next 2 days include game drives boat cruises and a dugout canoe safari as well as nature walks. These activities are accompanied by experienced guides and provide the ultimate Okavango safari experience.

The days in the Okavango Delta start with an early morning wake-up call with tea and coffee before heading out on your morning activity where the secrets of the Okavango Delta will be shared with you by your knowledgeable guide.

Day 7: Okavango Delta – Maun – Johannesburg

You will have time for a last activity before your flight to Maun to connect with your international flight to Johannesburg.
