You will arrive in Maun from Johannesburg and board a light aircraft which will take you to your lodge on Paradise Island in Moremi Game Reserve in the heart of the Okavango Delta where you will spend the next 2 nights. The Okavango is a pristine wetland and can be said to be one of the most beautiful places on earth.
You will have time to relax after lunch before heading out on an afternoon activity which, depending on the time of the year, will be water-based.
You will have a light breakfast before heading out on your morning activity through the channels and floodplains of the Delta, and maybe getting off to walk on an island. The Delta is an intricate network of channels, floodplains and islands and the guides, many of whom have grown up in the area, will explain this unique wetland to you.
You will return to the bush camp for lunch and some downtime during the heat of the day before heading out on your afternoon activity on the water.
The evenings in the Delta are truly special with the sound of nocturnal aquatic creatures filling the night air. Falling asleep to these unique sounds is something very different to what you may have experienced before.
Today you head north over the vast wilderness of Botswana for a 2 night stay on the Linyanti River. Here the landscape differs with dry arid plains meeting the fertile shores of the Linyanti swamp. It is this waterway that attracts thousands of animals during the dry season and in turn it is a predator haven.
The afternoon activity will introduce you to the area, with the chance of some dramatic wildlife sightings.
The days on the Linyanti start early, heading out before sunrise to catch the last of the nocturnal creatures as they go about their business and as the day lightens the scents and sounds change and with the sunrise new dramas play out. The safari guides in the Linyanti choose this place to be their home and they share this love of the area with you.
The morning game drive is followed by brunch and a siesta where you can take a nap or watch more dramas unfold around the safari lodge. The heat of the day is when many animals come down to drink and in this endless procession, things are bound to happen. The evening game drive will break for a sundowner on the river, a time to slow down and reminisce about what you experienced.
