5 day Botswana Family Safari in the Okavango Delta

Day 1 & 2: Sandibe Safari Lodge, Okavango Delta

Upon arrival in Maun for your Botswana Family Safari you are met and transferred to your light aircraft for the flight to Sandibe Safari Lodge where you will spend the next two nights At Sandibe Safari Lodge the clear waters of the Okavango Delta glimmer through a maze of brilliant green papyrus in front of the camp and the game-rich grassy floodplains stretch into the horizon beyond. Situated in a private concession, Sandibe has exclusive traversing over 27 000 hectares (66 700 acres) of wilderness adjacent to the Moremi Game Reserve.

As gentle breezes drift through window screens the outdoor shower makes for great stargazing. Take in the sun on raised private decks with great views over the Delta and then cool off in the swimming pool. At Sandibe you can take part in game drives in open safari vehicles, bush walks, mokoro (traditional canoe) excursions in the Delta, bush breakfasts, elegant bush dinners and birdwatching.

Day 3 & 4: Nxabega Okavango Safari Camp

A short flight over the Okavango Delta will bring you to Nxabega Okavango Tented Camp where you will spend the next two nights under a canopy of African ebony trees. Nxabega Okavango Tented Camp faces out over expansive lagoons and channels.

With expansive Okavango views, nine exclusive tented suites are strung out on either side of the handsome thatched guest areas of the camp. Burnished teak floors and a lofty roof frame the sitting and dining areas. Private bush dinners, breakfasts in bed, lamplit cocktails on a river island or a walking safari with al fresco picnic are provided with pleasure by Nxabega’s warm and friendly staff.

The children are well cared for by the staff and guides allowing parents to relax and enjoy the beauty of the Okavango Delta. Nxabega Okavango Tented Camp offers game drives in open 4x4 safari vehicles, boating and mekoro (dugout canoe) excursions. The birdwatching here is excellent.
