Which to Choose, Botswana or Kenya

September is one of the best months to visit Botswana and Kenya. The debate is which of these two will provide the best experience at that time of the year but after debating for hours it will become obvious how pointless it is as both destinations will provide you with unforgettable memories.

Reasons for Choosing Kenya

The opportunity to view the 'Greatest Show on Earth' - as the migration is known - is a rare privilege and is not available to all visitors to Kenya as the herds are constantly moving.
September provides arguably the best opportunity to see the migration in Kenya. The bonus of Kenya is that the other game parks will provide the variation in wildlife and landscape to go with the spectacle of the migration.
  • Wildlife migration
  • Predators
  • Postcard African landscapes
  • Great game viewing

Reasons for Choosing Botswana

In Botswana wildlife viewing is at its peak in September, with Africa's largest elephant population concentrating on the permanent waterways of the Chobe River and Linyanti Swamp.
The predator numbers are high in Botswana and at this time of the year are more easily seen due to the thinning vegetation and concentration of game.
Although it is the end of the dry season the Okavango Delta is at its peak - due to the intricacies of the southern African topography.
  • Elephant herds
  • Predators
  • Okavango at its peak
  • Great game viewing
This is an extremely difficult choice. For the opportunity/chance to see the migrations then obviously Kenya.

But to see Africa's greatest concentration of elephants then Botswana!
