The route between Moremi and Savute can be travelled at any time of the year, with great sightings to be had in any season. The initial part of the route is along the Khwai River, the northern-most overflow of the Okavango delta and a haven for wildlife in the dry season.
The Mababe Depression is a vast landscape that is reached after crossing over an ancient sand ridge. Mababe is a haven for wildlife in the dry season, when the seasonal pans are still holding water, and in the wet season when herds of Zebra and other herbivores concentrate on the nutritious grasses.
