Days 1 & 2: Sindabezi Island Lodge, Victoria Falls, Zambia

You will be met by a representative and assisted onto your scheduled road transfer from Livingstone Airport to Tongabezi Lodge for the transfer by boat from Tongabezi Lodge to Sindabezi Island.

Sindabezi Island Camp is a private island paradise nestled in the waters of the Zambezi, upstream of the Victoria Falls. Not only is it is the only African bush camp in the area, but the island is also the only bush camp that can be enjoyed exclusively as a private booking (on request only).

Here, in this haven of natural tranquillity, you will truly experience the sights and sounds of the African bush. From Sindabezi, the flood plain of the mighty Zambezi and the views of the wildlife in the nearby National Park will capture your soul.

Access from Tongabezi is by a short banana boat ride, or a guided canoe trip, where you may spot a pod of wallowing Hippo or Elephant drinking on the river bank. The camp consists of 4 thatched chalets, each with its own private river view.

Each chalet's open-fronted design brings you close to nature and with no electricity on the island, there is a real sense of adventure and romance, as you dine by candlelight on the sand and fall asleep in the glow of a hurricane lamp, to the music of the inimitable African night.

After your morning activity and breakfast (if time allows), you will depart Sindabezi Island Lodge on a scheduled road transfer to Kasane Airport. Upon your arrival in Kasane, and after clearing Botswana customs and immigration, you will be met by a Botswana Safari representative and assisted onto your scheduled charter flight to Xugana Island Lodge.

You will be transferred via Kazangula border post. The journey is approximately 70km from the Botswana border where you will have to complete immigration and customs procedures on both sides. 

Please be aware that road transfers between Victoria Falls and Kasane are approximately 2 hours in duration and involves customs and immigration formalities at both the Zambian and Botswana border posts en-route.

Days 3 - 5: Xugana Island Lodge, Botswana

After breakfast depart on a scheduled boat transfer from Sindabezi Island Lodge to Tongabezi Lodge for the road transfer from Tongabezi Lodge to Kasane Airport and the charter flight to Xugana Island Lodge.

This Botswana Safari lodge accommodates just 16 guests in large raised reed and thatch chalets, situated on the shaded fringe of the island, each with a lagoon view through the lagoon-side vegetation. Each chalet is twin bedded with en-suite facilities, showers, overhead fans and a private deck. 'His and hers' robes are provided.

Your stay at Xugana Island Lodge is inclusive of accommodation, all meals, all local brand drinks, scheduled safari activities, park entrance fees and laundry.

Mokoro trips in eco-friendly dugout canoes, combined with walking, to surrounding lagoons and islands in the concession give guests the chance to experience a classic Okavango Delta Botswana Safari. Bird-watching opportunities are outstanding, and fishing for bream and Tiger fish is also offered as an activity at the lodge.

Day 6: Depart

Depart from your Botswana Safari on a scheduled charter flight from Xugana Island Lodge to Maun Airport.

Please Note:

All charters have been booked on a seat on charter basis. Due to the nature of travel in light aircraft, mainly because of safety and space concerns, baggage is restricted to 20 kilograms (44 pounds), per person. This baggage must be soft sided so to allow for it to be packed properly.

If you do have extra bags or have suitcases heavier than the specified allowance, please advise your travel consultant as soon as the booking is made so that the needed arrangements can be made for the baggage to be transferred or stored at an additional cost.
