Here it is as if time has stood still, and the wildlife is as plentiful as it was 100 years ago. The areas of the Okavango Delta and Linyanti that are visited on the Botswana Best of Wilderness Safari are certain to provide memories to last forever. Enjoy game drives and night drives with guides who know the areas intimately. Your experienced safari guides will provide a unique perspective on the habits of the animals and will ensure that you come away knowing that you have experienced the ultimate in an African Safari. Day 1: Johannesburg - Maun – Linyanti Today you will fly from Maun in a light aircraft to the Linyanti region of Botswana where you will spend the next 2 nights. You will arrive in time for lunch and a short rest before the afternoon activity. The game drives in Linyanti revolve around the waterfront where animals come to drink, and predators may lie in wait. There may be time for a sundowner in the bush with the sounds of the approaching night around you. Day 2 & 3: Linyanti The days in Linyanti begin with early morning wake-up calls and tea or coffee before a game drive to seek out the animals that make this region such a spectacular wildlife destination. Early mornings are the best time to see predators going about their daily routines. A huge brunch is served following the morning game drive after which there will be time for a siesta or to watch the wildlife around your room. Many animals come down to drink during the heat of the day, providing unbelievable sightings from the comfort of your bush lodge in Botswana. Afternoon tea will be served followed by the evening game drive. Day 4: Linyanti – Okavango There will be time for an early morning activity before your flight into the Okavango Delta, to an area regarded as the ultimate in African wildlife viewing. The afternoon game drive will take in the floodplains and woodlands of this pristine region. Sundowners in the bush add to the experience before a five-star dinner at the lodge. Day 5 & 6: Okavango Delta Those who have not really woken to the sounds of the African dawn will experience this with a wake-up call and tea and coffee which precedes the morning game drive. This exclusive area of the Okavango is renowned for its wildlife and the guides will ensure that you are not disappointed. If there is time, morning tea and coffee will be enjoyed somewhere in the bush before brunch back at the game lodge. The midday and early afternoon siesta times can provide some spectacular wildlife interaction in front of the game lodge. After a quick cup of tea the afternoon game drive will explore more of the area and its wildlife. There may even be time for a sundowner before heading back to the bush lodge for dinner. Day 7: Okavango - Maun - Johannesburg You may choose a last game drive before brunch and your flight back to Maun.
