Premier Elephant Encounters Safari

Explore the intricate world of Elephants on this Elephant Encounter Safari experience in the Okavango Delta and Chobe, two areas recognised for their wildlife and wilderness and in particular, their Elephant populations.

On this safari you will encounter the world's largest Elephant herds. The wildlife in these areas will provide some of the best sightings, but for Elephant lovers this safari takes on greater meaning.

Not only will you see the great herds but there is also the opportunity to walk in the bush with a guide and learn first-hand how they select food and how they react to the environment around them. This is the only African safari for you if Elephants are of special interest.

Day 1: Johannesburg - Maun - Okavango

Arriving in Maun from Johannesburg you will board a light aircraft for your flight into the Okavango Delta, where you will spend 2 nights of your unique Elephant Encounter Safari in Botswana. The first afternoon will be spent on a game drive getting to know the area before stopping for sundowners in the African bush.

Day 2: Okavango

Today you will have the opportunity of spending time in the bush on foot. There will be guides to show you the ropes and give you a rundown on Elephant etiquette. This unique activity allows you to satisfy your curiosity about the gentle giants of Africa.

There will be time for relaxation before the afternoon activity of your choice. Depending on the season you may choose a dugout canoe ride, a motorboat excursion or another game drive before heading back to the game lodge for cocktails and dinner. Sleep may come slowly as the memories of the incredible interaction pass through your mind.

Day 3: Okavango - Chobe

Today you head north in a light aircraft over the endless wilderness of Northern Botswana before reaching the Chobe River. Here you will spend the next 2 nights in a bush lodge set high above the floodplains. Activities revolve around the river with game drives and boat cruises providing a wildlife experience to savour.

Day 4: Chobe

The Chobe floodplains are alive with wildlife coming down to drink - this is especially so during the dry season when the water in the interior has dried up. Game drives and boat cruises will bring you up close and personal to the great herds. There may even be the opportunity of watching Elephants cross the river into Namibia. You may wish to spend the afternoon in the privacy of your room or treat yourself to the wellness spa, renowned as the best in Botswana.

A swimming pool provides relief from the midday heat or you may simply relax in the en-suite garden of your room. This is truly an exceptional experience, what with incredible wildlife sightings and the best service on offer.

Day 5: Chobe - Johannesburg

There will be time for one more activity before you transfer to the airport and your flight back to Johannesburg.
